We are the swedish design duo Åsa & Emme Copparstad.
After years of making products for other companies
and in other areas we decided
to finally join forces
and start up together.
In the beginning of the summer of 2010 we launched our
first product "PocketHuset".
From 2011 Copparstad has taken a more conceptual approach.
We will use this studio to explore the world around us.
It will be our own spiritual green house..

Big Bang Lamp
This lamp visualizes the force that flows from a point in space. Like the sun, an explosion or the force radiating from some radioactive matter.
The idea for this lamp was born during an art course at Konstfack in 2011. The tsunami earthquake in Japan occured just before. Even though the death toll of the flooding was estimated to some 22000 and no casualities have yet to be reported due to the radiation from the damaged nuclear reactors almost all media attention switched to focus on the latter. What is it that makes us so unrationally afraid of radioactivity?
Is this the ghost & goblins of the postmodern age?
Bamboo sticks, beeswax, glass, epoxy)
Buckled Lamp
This lamp started with the idea of making unique products in mass production processes. Along the way, we discovered how nice it is as a designer to let go of the formgiving & let the process, material & chance to do the job instead. The force from the hydraulic press of 120 tons is frozen in the metal.

Gun Shelf
We consume violence like never before. Violence fills our news programs, newspapers & the internet. As if this wasn't enough much of the entertainment we consume also circulates around violence in various forms. Books, films and TV games depicts violence in a never-ending stream.
Violence is sexy. It scares yet attracts. And it SELLS...
We love violence at a distance. We are fascinated by death, but it must not come too close.
With this shelf, we want to make a connection between the fictional violence & the force of violence in the real world.

Insane campaign started at DesignTorget!
Our pretty faces are selected to be displayed in the window of all stores together with 4 other product designers!
Press also coming up in SVD on Saturday and Hus&Hem next issue we are told. Hus&Hem is a very good thing because it is given away for free during the Stockholm book fair! That can't be bad!
DesignTorget competition aimed at the public coming up in September which will lead to press in Metro on 5-6 of September.
If this won't boost the sales of the Paperback House we don't know what will...
